Great site, Dennis. I served as an evac pilot with the 2nd Platoon in Pleiku in 1967. Call sign was Dustoff 27. I started my second tour at the 498th in 1970 and served as Operations Officer (Dustoff 3). I will always remember my time with the 498th and give a special salute to the "guys-in-the-back" (GIBs) and to all of the incredible support personnel who made it possible for us to fly our missions. Welcome home, brothers!

Hey Guys, I was in Class 69-15. I was in the 498th from September 69 through December 69 and then got reassigned to the 247th in Phan Rang to finish out my tour. My memories are almost all good ones. I was lucky and still am. I spent 20 years in and flew the whole time. I retired in 88 in Atlanta with the FORSCOM Flight Detachment as my last. I now am going on 20 years with a private company (Printpack Inc) where I started their flight department. We started with a Diamond Jet, then and Astra Jet and now we operate a Challenger 604. Just can't get the flying out of my system. I have great remembrances of the Viet Nam days and those I flew with. What a great and dedicated and unassuming group of guys who did nothing but good for those we picked up in bad shape and almost all are living to tell their tales. It is an honor to be part of this elite group of men. Welcome Home Guys!!

Dennis, I was at Lane from July 70 to July 71. My call sign was Dustoff40. My nickname was Sunshine. It's been so long that I don't remember names and places. When I see names, like Tom Parker, I begin to remember things. If anyone can help with the names of the pilots, crew chiefs, medics and maintenance guys, I would appreciate it.

I served with the 2d plt (Qui Nhon), 498th Dust-off from Sept 66 to August 67. I was a Spec.5 medic. I have some pictures, where do I send them. I'm also looking for a Sergeant Dortch, and (then) Capt. Mott. Anyone know anything?
